Gossip can be really bad. Likely anyone reading this has been a victim of gossip whether it was a lie or true. It doesn’t even really matter the truthfulness. Not every fact needs to be out there.
Even those most people are victims of gossip, they happily continue to do it. Why do people continue to gossip? Maybe they have low self-esteem and need to do it to feel good about themselves. It could be that they’ve been victims so long they want to pay others back.
For most people, they gossip because they enjoy the thrill of spreading and hearing something juicy. And, once they get that thrill it can be hard to stop. It’s not just teens who have gossip issues. Lots of old people, especially women, have a hard time with it.
Do you gossip too much? Ask yourself a few questions….
-Do you enjoy spreading rumors?
-Are you usually the first to tell others something you hear?
-Do people dislike you because you can’t keep your mouth shut?
If you answered yes to these questions or think you gossip too much, then it’s time to stop. Anyone who gossips a lot, whatever the age, will never be a very popular person. No one will ever trust you enough to be your friend. And, you’ll make a lot of enemies.
So, if you gossip a lot, it’s time to stop. Resist the urge to spread rumors or enjoy hearing them. Be a cool person to others and that guy or girl whom others like and want to be around. Then, you’ll be really popular!
