Have you ever said or thought: I hate high school. If so, you’re not alone. Lots of teens in high school have a bad experience. While some adults look back with fondness on their high school years, there are others who absolutely hated their experience. In fact, it felt like a prison for many.
If you are a part of the I hate high school crowd, then we have some tips for you. High school doesn’t have to be miserable. Anything can become better with the right perspective and, most importantly, the right tips to be successful. So, if you hate high school, read on. We may be able to help.
Save the Drama
One of the biggest reasons people hate high school is because it’s crazily dramatic. Everyone is into everyone else’s business and it can get absolutely out of control.
But, guess what? It doesn’t have to be. Sure the drama can swirl around you. But, that doesn’t mean you have to be a part of it. So, do your best to avoid the drama. While some is inevitable, stop hanging with drama queens and kings. Ignore gossip and negativity. You control how much you get involved in drama.
Get Involved In The School
In many cases, teens hate high school because, even though they are there nearly everyday, they’re not really involved in it. It’s easier to love something if you care about it and are invested in it.
So if you constantly say I hate high school, maybe you should give it more of a chance. Try to join a club, play a sport, or hang out with more people. If you simply show up, attend school, and go home, then maybe you’re not doing all you can to make the best of the situation.
Have A Better Attitude
While there are many legitimate gripes about high schools, sometimes teens hate high school…well…just because. Perhaps you hate high school because you think you should. That’s really not a good reason.
Give high school and the people there a chance, especially if you haven’t given them one in the past (or it was a long time ago). I went to school with a girl who hated high school. But, she didn’t really have anything to hate. She just went in with a bad attitude and, no surprise, had a bad experience.
I, on the other hand, had a good attitude about high school. It wasn’t always perfect, but I had an enjoyable high school experience. I was popular and made lots of good friends.
Try to have a better attitude about high school. Make the most of it and look on the bright side about it. You may actually make a lot of friends and have a lot of fun.
