A great example of a popular, teen celebrity is Justin Bieber. I’ll freely admit I’m not a huge fan of his style of music, although I think he is extremely talented.
You may not have caught Bieber Fever either. But, whether you like his music or not, the guy is wildly successful and popular. And, his success story can teach a lot to anyone seeking fame.
Bieber came from a home headed by a single mother and lived in low income housing. As a child, he loved music and taught himself how to play several instruments. At 12, he entered a talent contest and won…second place.
He sang on the streets of his town for anyone who walked by. His mom put videos up on YouTube for family and friends. He developed a following there, an agent found him, and the rest is history!
Bieber’s story is great for teens who dream of popularity and fame. He didn’t have any special advantages. But, he had a passion for his talent and the willingness to work hard to achieve it. How many people would teach themselves to play an instrument or sing on the street for a shot at popularity? Not many! How many people are as famous as Justin Bieber? Not many!
Here are a few lessons from Justin BIeber’s story for any teen wanting to be more popular and successful:
- Never give up, no matter your circumstance
- Promote yourself and enlist family and friends to help
- Get fans any way you can
- Stay true to your values and convictions
So, if you have a talent or skill and want to be popular and famous, then keep Justin Bieber in mind as a role model, even if you don’t particularly like his music.
