At the stroke of midnight tonight, we will say goodbye to 2012. For some people, they’ll breathe a huge sigh of relief to see the end of the year. Others may have had an amazing year and will look back fondly. We all have different opinions of 2012 and now is a great time to look back on the previous year.
First, what did you do well? What were your accomplishments? Did you set goals and achieve them? If you’re like the average person, then you probably had some things you did well and were successful. Make note of those! And, vow to have similar achievements in 2013.
Especially look at your thoughts and attitudes. Find the characteristics of your personality that helped you achieve success and strengthen them. When you succeeded in 2012, continue those thoughts in 2013.
Second, what did you do in 2012 that you wish had happened differently? Now is a good time to do an honest examination of your actions and personality traits that need some improvement.
Did you have any big problems in 2012? Abusive partner? Major meltdown in front of friends? Decrease in confidence and popularity? If you did, then you don’t want to repeat the same mistakes in 2013. Take note of where you failed and learn something from your mistakes! That makes sure you avoid similar problems.
So, this New Year’s Eve, have a fun and safe day and night. Don’t do anything stupid! Reflect on your 2012 and vow to have an even better 2013.
