With summer coming (or already here depending on where you live), it’s a great time to actually get in shape.
In winter, you have every possible excuse (the cold, bad weather, etc.). But, when it’s hot, dry, and you’re bored, what excuse do you have? None.
Summer is a great time to get fit and healthy. However, for many teens, there are other things that seem to take up more time and they’r not always good for your waistline or popularity.
That means the first step for summer fitness is to break those habits that keep you inside and lazy. This could mean you need to stop playing video games as much, ignore the TV for at least an hour a day, and give social media a much needed rest.
The second step is to actually find an activity that you enjoy and go with it (or several activities). There are tons of great exercises that you can do in the summer months.
Individual ones are running, hiking, walking, and biking. Group ones are golfing, football, volleyball, tennis, basketball, soccer, and many others. You can think of more for sure.
Really, though, the best exercise is the one that you actually do and stick with. Don’t be pressured into picking one that you think you should be doing (everyone thinks they have to run, for example). If you find one you and your friends can enjoy you’ll likely be able to get in shape and stay fit.
So, with summer vacation and weather here, it’s time to get into summer fitness. Find what you love and go for it. Get fitter, healthier, and work towards being more popular.
