The snow and cold have been a fixture of most northern areas of the United States and Europe this winter. Even the statistics confirm this is one of the coldest winters on record. This means lots of time off school and likely spent indoors.
While you might think it’s crazy to give advice on what to do on a snow day, it’s actually not.
Most teens do little on a snow day off except sit around and play video games. There’s nothing wrong with that. But, for your mental health, it’s helpful to actually do a few meaningful activities.
If it’s safe and the temperature is high enough, try to get outside. You might be a teen, but you don’t always have to act like an adult. Go sledding, have a snowball fight, build a fort. Get outside in some fresh air and play in the snow. It’s great for your mental health and will help you burn some calories.
Read A Good Book
While staring at a book might not get you moving, at least it might get you using your imagination or learning something. Yeah, it might be a day off from school but you can still learn something. This time, it can be something that you actually want to learn about.
Yes, a day off is a great time to get some exercise. If you can’t get outdoors, workout around the house. You’ll burn off some energy and actually improve your looks. Make it a habit and you might just get that body you’ve always wanted. If you don’t have any workout DVDs just do some push-ups, pull ups, and crunches. Your body is a great workout tool.
Yes, you can even use your time off to become a better person. Practice that guitar, work out your karate moves, work on pick up lines, practice comedy routines, etc. Use the down time to actually make yourself a more high value and more attractive person.
So, make the most of the days off. Then, when you go back to school you’ll be a more popular and attractive person.
